Personal Experience

The teacher was using the interactive whiteboard to model the letter 'C' by using her finger to trace over the dots and draw the letter, she could not get the touch feature to work so ended up having to use the computer to model this anyway. She then tired to complete a 'drag and drop' activity using a website and the interactive whiteboard, the aim of the activity was for the students to be able to interact and drag the words to the corresponding picture. The touch feature of the interactive whiteboard was being difficult yet again, and she ended up having to use the mouse on the computer. This mishap with technology meant that a lot of valuable teaching time was lost and it meant that the children could not be so interactively involved The children were required to think less as the teacher ended up having to complete the majority of the tasks, meaning technology proved to be a disadvantage to the classroom in this instance.
